Bronze of Chief Wolfrobe, the indian depicted on the buffalo nickel. Done by Carl Kauba, an Austrian European sculptor. This is a museum piece in that another numbered piece is in the Indian museum" Thomas Gilcrease Museum" at Tulsa, Oklahoma and also is depicted in the illustrated book " Bronzes of the American West" by Patricia Broder , page 218. The piece in the book has a colored patina while this piece does not. Kauba, being a Viennese artist, imported his bronzes to the U.S. from 1895 to 1912 and widely sold by Latendorfer in New York during the 1950's.
